JEWELLERY CARE
Information & Care Instructions For Gold Plated Jewellery
To clean your gold plated item, give a gentle and occasional wipe down with the polishing cloth provided. If you find your piece gets a little grubby or dull with wear, a gentle wash with warm water and green dish detergent will clean your piece without damaging it. Either use a small, non abrasive soft brush or the polishing cloth provided, along with the green dish detergent, to gently clean and restore sparkle. Make sure to thoroughly rinse and then dry your piece after cleaning.
Information & Care Instructions For Brass Jewellery
Ruby Jack Jewellery is artisanal, UK made, artful jewellery and thus desires to be treated with care. To keep your jewellery looking its best, please keep away from body lotions/perfumes. We recommend that you always remove your jewellery when showering, swimming or sleeping to prevent brass tarnishing for as long as possible. Please keep your jewellery away from water unless you are cleaning it according to the instructions below. Brass jewellery will naturally oxidise and darken over time. Below are instructions on how to maintain it's golden sparkle. Some people have a mild reaction to brass that can cause irritation, so please take care to ensure the wearer is able to comfortably wear brass. Without gold plating acting as a barrier, brass can turn the wearers skin green when worn in close contact and depends entirely on the PH of the wearer's skin. We recommend opting for the gold plated product version if this is a reaction you are prone to.
Regularly use a small, softly abrasive brush or toothbrush and some green dish detergent to clean your brass piece. Once you have brought your jewellery back to its original shine, dry your piece completely. Your piece must be bone dry after cleaning. The more often you do this the easier it will be to maintain the yellow-gold colour of your brass piece. Occasionally use a brass polish such as PEEK or MAAS to completely remove any grease, or metal discolouration. Pop a little polish on to the corner of the cloth provided and gently polish all over. Rinse your piece under warm water with a little green dish detergent to remove any excess polish. Dry your piece completely. Your piece must be bone dry after cleaning.
Care Instructions For Gold Filled Chains
We recommend that you always remove your chain when showering, swimming or sleeping to preserve the thickly bonded layer of gold for as long as possible.
