The Paper Moon Earrings
Brass or 24k Gold Plated
The Paper Moon was a fashionable prop used in early 20th century informal portraiture. The moon offered a whimsical framing of a magic moment.
Parade draws inspiration from the ballet of the same name, by Leonide Massine, Eric Satie, Jean Cocteau and with costumes and set design by Pablo Picasso. Continuing on with my circus themed jewels I looked to Parade for a cubist spin. First performed by the Ballets Russes in Paris in 1917, the production is set at a funfair or fairground and follows the story of a traveling circus troupe.
I invite you to adorn your favourite performer…
